What you get free, and what a subscription adds

LyteFast has three tiers: a free level that covers everyday logging, a Base Access subscription that adds the forecasting and insight features, and an AI Add-On for the camera-driven tools. Here is exactly where the lines fall, so you can decide which one — if any — you actually need.

Free: log, sync, and see your chart

The free tier is a complete weight-tracking app rather than a trial. It includes manual weight and step logging, basic charts, and fitness tracker and scale sync — steps, workouts, and weigh-ins arrive automatically if you use a connected device, and manual entry covers you if you do not. You can also choose from 60 activity types to estimate calories burned.

For food, the free tier includes the Calorie Estimator with 60 predefined foods, which is the fast way to log intake without pointing a camera at anything. Each of those items carries a simple carbon-footprint range — low, medium, or high — and a gluten status.

Free tier at a glance

  • Manual weight and step logging
  • Calorie Estimator with 60 predefined foods
  • Fitness tracker and scale sync
  • Basic charts

Base Access: the forecast and the "why"

Base Access is the tier for people who want the app to interpret the data rather than just store it. It unlocks the weight forecast — the Auto-Zoom chart smooths daily noise, focuses on the most relevant slice of your journey, and projects a near-term trend, which is what answers "am I on track?" and "when is the next milestone?"

It also adds the always-visible calorie deficit view, which translates energy balance into plain language: how far you are from goal, what is currently driving the trend — intake, activity, or fasting — and the smallest effective changes that would close the gap. On-budget notifications are there to let you course-correct early rather than discover the problem a week later.

Fasting sits in this tier too. You log your fasting windows and see their measurable impact, with an animated percentage-to-goal gauge for the current window and the Auto-Zoom chart for the longer arc. The CO₂e carbon-footprint estimate per meal and the gluten status indicator for packaged items round the tier out.

Base Access adds

  • Weight forecast on the Auto-Zoom chart
  • Calorie deficit tracking and on-budget notifications
  • Fasting log and insights
  • CO₂e footprint per meal scan
  • Gluten status indicator

AI Add-On: anything that starts with the camera

The AI Add-On covers the four features that need a photo. The AI Food Scanner recognises common foods and portions so you can log a plate without hunting through a database, and the Barcode Scanner pulls verified nutrition for packaged items.

The other two are motivational rather than nutritional. AI Body Preview takes a photo and generates a goal-physique visualisation you can share as a before-and-after — these are artistic renderings for motivation, not predictions of how you will actually look. AI Muscle Rating scores eight muscle groups (pectorals, shoulders, biceps, triceps, forearms, legs, abs, and back) from 1 to 100, gives an overall rating and a rank from Wood through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Champion and Titan up to Olympian, shows where you sit on the bell curve, and comments on each muscle group. Those scores are AI-generated estimates, not clinical measurements.

Progress from any dashboard card can be shared directly, and the app keeps your complete Apple Health weigh-in history alongside what you log by hand.

Which one fits you

If you already know your habits and just want a reliable log and chart, the free tier is the whole app you need — there is no expiry on it. If the question you keep asking is "is this actually working, and how much longer?", that is the weight forecast and the deficit view, which means Base Access. If the friction that stops you logging is the logging itself, the AI Add-On's scanners are aimed squarely at that.

Subscriptions come as weekly, monthly, or yearly plans and are managed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase, plans renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel at any time in your Apple ID account settings. LyteFast requires iOS 18.0 or later and is available in 151 languages.

All features and insights are estimates for informational purposes and do not replace medical, nutritional, or fitness advice. AI Body Preview generates artistic visualisations for motivation only — not predictions of your actual future appearance. AI Muscle Rating scores are AI-generated estimates, not clinical measurements.
